Discover Scuba Diving

Want to try scuba diving but not sure if you want to go for a full Open Water course? Then Discover Scuba Diving with DJL is the perfect diving experience for you.

We will start the day by going over some basic scuba diving theory, briefing you on the equipment you will be using and how it functions, finishing with a few simple dive skills. While in shallow water, your instructor will demonstrate these skills ensuring that proper technique and safe practices are used. These skills include breathing underwater, clearing a partially flooded mask, purging your regulator of any water, and recovering a lost regulator. You will practice these skills while under the close supervision of your instructor before heading for deeper waters.

The maximum depth for a DSD is 12 metres, but this is not required and only if you feel comfortable diving to such depth. At these depths, you can expect to see plenty of colorful fish in and around the reef and bottom. Some common fish seen around these sites are butterflyfish, angelfish, parrotfish, puffer fish and a vast variety of brightly colored corals. Most dives last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on your air consumption.

The Discover Scuba Diving program is a great way to get your feet wet and check out the underwater world for yourself. After your first dive, you have the option to make an additional dive on the same trip but diferent location for 1,000 THB extra.

If you decide that’s enough diving for one day, then feel free to go snorkeling around the boat or just relax and enjoy the scenery, as our boat goes out for two dives each trip.

If you really enjoy your dives and decide you want to become a certified diver, we will give you 2.500 THB credit towards the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
